The water sector of Fryslân is going through a major development in a short period of time, thanks to their expanding level of activity. The development of the Watercampus, in which companies, governments and science centers combine their powers, progresses with the official opening of the Johannes de Doper church as a milestone. Stichting WELL (Water, Energy and Life Sciences Leeuwarden) facilitates the Johannes de Doper church, gives support to the young companies located there and progresses the synergy between these companies and universities. All of the companies located there, including Westt, are working with or are related to water technology. Stichting WELL also develops and supports many facilities: accommodations, laboratories, experimental facilities, technical studios (pilot/demo construction), ICT support, patent accompaniment and knowledge, grants and accountancy. The Westt-concept within Stichting Well
Westt is one of the founding fathers of Stichting Well. Westt continously supports Well in their daily activities and the further development of the foundation in the national and international market of water, energy and life sciences. Since February 1st 2009, when the Johannes de Doper church opened his doors, Stichting Well has grown into a foundation with a professional team and facilities for water technology start-ups.
